NSW Health Award for prostate cancer treatment

The NSW Health Awards recognise innovation and excellence in the delivery of health programs and services to the NSW community throughout the public health system.

Clinical researchers from South Western Sydney won the Bob Leece Transforming Health Award for their project SeedTracker: Targeting prostate cancer for high precision radiotherapy which has delivered a cutting-edge treatment for prostate cancer into routine use.

The Partners in improved developmental outcomes project was a finalist for the Preventive Health Award. The partnership between SWSLHD and Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation resulted in a streamlined, person centred, integrated health care pathway between Tharawal Aboriginal Medical Service, allied health services and mainstream community health services.

Collaborative engagement with consumers was key to the success of the Equal access for the culturally and linguistically diverse community project based at SWSLHD’s Fairfield Hospital, which was a finalist for the Collaborative Team Award.
